Call for abstracts

Here is your opportunity to practice your academic skills!

Improve your visual and networking skills by presenting a poster, practice talking on your feet by doing an oral presentation, and boost your writing abilities by submitting an extended abstract.

We are working on rewarding the best presentations and best posters with a popular science article in a scientific journal.

All other accepted abstracts will be uploaded on DiVA (

The benefits of doing so are

1) DiVA provides a permanent link, similar to a DOI,

2) the articles will show up in google scholar through DiVA, and

3) the authors retain copyright on their abstracts.

The first two are very beneficial when looking for a job, as you can include your work in your CV.

oral presentation

Our team will help you during the review process to present your work in the best possible way.

Abstract guidelines

  • All abstracts must be written in English.

  • There is no abstract template, you will fill in form in our online Abstract System

  • Colored figures are allowed. ONE image file, of for instance graphs, tables, diagrams or equations, can be included in the abstract. This image file can thus have multiple figures, equations, and/or tables. All figures and tables must have a caption, and equations must have a number.

  • Equations can only be included in the image file, must be numbered, and referred to in the text.

  • All figures and tables need to be referenced in the text.

  • All citations need to have a reference at the end, and all references at the end need to be cited in the text.

  • Maximum of 4 pages, including references and figures (for oral presentation).

  • Please, use the following citation style:

    • Citations are numbered in the text according to appearance.

    • The references are then also ordered according to the appearance in the text.

    • Reference should use: authors, year, title, journal

  • Include the following co-authors: project supervisors, anyone who helped you design the research, carry out the research, or formulate the ideas which are described in the abstract. This is especially important if this abstract describes work from a Thesis or a journal publication.
